About
David Schwartzbaum is an actor, comedian, writer, host, and educator. David has over a decade of performance and teaching experience. He has headlined dozens of comedy festivals throughout the country, taught thousands creative writing, improv, sketch and comedy and has been showcased on Chicago PD and in ads for organizations like Fujifilm, Travel Oregon and the Lottery.
David Schwartzbaum was born at North Shore Hospital in Miami Florida. The Hospital was condemned and knocked down three months after his birth. The youngest child of a Cuban father and Jewish mother, David was eating fried bananas and blowing the shofar before he could walk. His multicultural ethnic identity drives David to do the type of work that he does.
At 19 years old David dropped out of college to found Off-Color Theatre Company, the only theater company dedicated to producing original comedic content in Philadelphia. After three successful seasons including a dozen world premiere theatrical productions including "Bailout! The Live-Action Sitcom" and "No-Talent Hacks" David moved to Chicago to continue his comedy career.
In Chicago David graduated from iO Chicago Training Center, the Second City Conservatory Program and the Annoyance Training Center. David toured and headlined comedy festivals across the country with his improv teams “Switch Committee” and “Lethal Action Force.”
Currently
David is also a comedy and improv teacher. He has developed curriculum for six camps and taught thousands of children in the Chicagoland area working with his own LLC. He has also performed musical improv for children with "Storytown Improv".
